M4M and Partners Work with The Rotary Foundation for a Malaria-Free Zambia

18 May 2023, Baltimore – Metrics for Management (M4M) and partners were recently engaged to conduct an evaluation of The Rotary Foundation’s (TRF) first Programs of Scale award recipient, the Partners for a Malaria-Free Zambia project (PMFZ). PMFZ aims to reduce malaria cases in ten target districts in two provinces in Zambia – especially severe malaria and death, particularly for pregnant women and children under five. It also seeks to position Rotary members to play a sustained role in malaria elimination programming. Two years into the project’s three-year implementation period, TRF seeks to understand the project’s effectiveness, elements of the project and partnership that are critical to success and scale up, conditions that will make replication and scaling possible, and how Rotary members can best be engaged to support malaria elimination efforts.
“We are excited to work alongside TRF and partners on this critical evaluation,” said Dominic Montagu, CEO and Founder of Metrics for Management. “It will be game-changing to better understand the PMFZ intervention and how key aspects of the PMFZ model can be scaled in Zambia and beyond.”
The partners have deep experience working on both malaria and with TRF. M4M has drawn on this experience to inform the proposed evaluation questions, frameworks, and methods, and will continue to leverage it fully for analytics, insights, and recommendations. M4M will lead the evaluation, in partnership with in-country and regional expert consultants. The team will be further supported by a global expert technical advisory group. Results of the evaluation will be completed in October.
