Position Description
Metrics for Management is seeking an experienced Business Development Consultant to conduct a discrete project that will advance our nonprofit organization’s business development efforts. This role will focus on defining a cohesive business development strategy and creating a concrete, actionable plan for our small team to implement. Project is anticipated to begin in mid-February and to be completed in May.
The consultant will also help us strengthen and streamline our business development processes from opportunity identification to successful conversion to new business. This will also include defining key communication collateral that is required along the business development pathway and providing an outline for the type of content to include. [Note: Metrics for Management is also hiring a Strategic Marketing Consultant. If qualified, one individual, team or firm may apply to both roles.]
The consultant will leverage their expertise in nonprofit development, strategic partnerships, and resource mobilization to strengthen our organizational capacity, broaden our reach and enhance our impact. The strategy should include concrete steps to advance and integrate our business development efforts in the impact investment space and how to achieve success with private sector investors, CSRs, and social impact investors.
This consultant will play a critical role in helping us improve our processes and to secure the resources necessary to achieve our mission. If you are a strategic thinker and a proven leader in nonprofit/social impact investing business development, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct an assessment of the organization’s current business development practices, challenges, and opportunities.
- Develop a cohesive and strategic business development plan that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals with a focus on the next 12-18 months.
- Advise on and establish clear workflows and processes for opportunity identification, proposal development, and new partner/donor engagement.
- Provide guidance on cultivating relationships with donors, corporate partners, and other stakeholders to secure long-term funding and collaboration.
- Create detailed implementation plans with timelines, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes to operationalize the strategy.
- Deliver tailored recommendations for building internal capacity to sustain and grow business development efforts.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to leadership and staff during the implementation phase, if requested.
- Provide input, information, and feedback to the Strategic Marketing Consultant (to be engaged) who will be responsible for creating the supporting communications and marketing collateral.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of developing successful business development strategies in the nonprofit global health or development sector.
- Strong understanding of funding landscapes, including grants, private sector partnerships, and government funding in global health.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex strategies into actionable steps.

Position Description
M4M is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Management Consultant to support our nonprofit organization in global health. The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will primarily support the COO and Chief Executive Officer with project management, administration, and small research tasks. This ongoing, part-time role (20% time) will focus on coordinating business development, operational, and research priorities, ensuring projects stay on track and deliverables are met. The consultant will manage small basic research or information finding requests, organize meetings, liaise with external vendors, and ensure all necessary materials are prepared and distributed in a timely manner. In addition, this position may be asked to test new technology solutions and provide feedback as we explore tools that will best support our team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong project coordination and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Organization
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, ensuring all relevant participants are informed and materials are distributed in advance.
- Prepare meeting agendas, compile necessary materials, and ensure follow-up tasks are assigned and tracked.
- Compile and distribute meeting minutes, summarizing key decisions and next steps for all participants.
- Maintain a centralized calendar for key project and business development
milestones.
- Monitor and track project deliverables and timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and team members are informed of progress. Communicate with accounting team when invoices should be prepared and track payments.
- Organize and maintain digital files, ensuring all documents are accessible and up to date.
Business Development and Background Research Support
- Track and document key business development opportunities, follow-up needs, and progress using a CRM or equivalent system.
- Conduct one-off background research requests to gather intelligence on potential partners, funders, or collaborators.
Other Tasks, as requested
- Support testing of new technology solutions, and provide recommendations for M4M’s team.
- Gather information from research team members about key project milestones, conference attendance, or other information that can be used on social media. Communicate on a routine basis with external communications team.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in project management, coordination, or a related role, ideally in a nonprofit or global health/development context.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Trello and previous experience with basic CRMs, as well as general office tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace and the Google Drive suite.
- Experience liaising with external vendors or partners, such as bookkeeping teams.
- Proven ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic nonprofit environment.
Location
Remote, with a preference for location in Baltimore, MD or Winston-Salem, NC and/or ability to overlap with East Coast working hours

We are seeking a talented Marketing Content Creation Consultant to support our nonprofit organization in global health. The consultant will be responsible for developing tailored materials for identified target audiences, including CSR teams of corporations, social impact investors, and other stakeholders. This role will focus on creating clear, concise, and visually engaging content such as pitch decks, revised capability statements, and other outreach materials. These deliverables will align with our business development strategy, effectively showcasing the unique value Metrics for Management can bring to potential clients and collaborators. This consultant will play a vital role in equipping M4M with the tools needed to effectively communicate our mission and build strategic partnerships. If you have a passion for creating impactful content that drives engagement and fosters collaboration, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the leadership team to understand target audiences and their specific information needs, including CSR teams, social impact investors, and global health partners.
- Integrate input, information, and feedback from the Business Development Strategy Consultant (to be engaged) into all marketing and communications collateral.
- Revise and enhance the organization’s current capability statement to clearly articulate our value proposition, mission, and offerings, creating versions for 2-3 unique audiences.
- Design and develop tailored PowerPoint presentations, pitch decks, and other materials that effectively communicate M4M’s impact and capabilities.
- Create follow-up materials to complement presentations, such as one-pagers on our work, project samples, client testimonials, etc. All content, presentations and follow-up materials, should align with M4M’s business development strategy.
- Ensure all content is clear, crisp, visually engaging, and aligned with M4M’s branding and messaging.
- Work iteratively with the team to gather feedback and refine materials as needed.
Qualifications:

- Proven track record of creating professional, high-quality pitch decks, presentations, and other content for global health or development organizations.
- Strong ability to translate technical and programmatic information into clear, engaging, and audience-tailored messaging.
- Expertise in designing visually appealing materials using tools such as PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with corporate social responsibility and social impact investing landscapes.
- Exceptional communication, writing, and editing skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively with a team in a dynamic nonprofit setting.
